My new book, A BUTTERFLY IN PHILADELPHIA, is out in paperback and the ebook is available for pre-order at Amazon until its release on May 18.
If you pre-order the ebook now, it will be delivered to your Kindle or other device on May 18 at a price of only 99 cents! That price will immediately go up to $3.99 after May 18. (By the way, you don’t have to own a Kindle to buy an Amazon ebook. Amazon will provide a free app so you can download and read the book on just about any portable device, including a phone. This app is available on the right side of the Amazon page where the book is sold. )
A BUTTERFLY IN PHILADELPHIA is the story of Spencer Casey, a 20-year-old high school dropout who works in a failing puzzle factory in Philadelphia, chopping up Masterpieces of Western Art into jigsaw puzzles. He is tired of being an effect instead of a cause. On the night before the factory is to close, inspired by the image of a butterfly flapping its wings in China, he scrambles the pieces of a painting called “Chaos Scape 19” and sends his own ripples of chaos into the world. The book is a satirical comic novel and at the same time a coming of age story for the two narrators, Spencer Casey and Lindsay Pangborn, who, like most young people, manage to navigate successfully through the chaos they inflict on the world.
Readers’ Favorite Book Reviews, in a Five-star review, called the book “one of those one of the strange comic masterpieces that you’re lucky to run across once in a very great while.”
I hope you will read and enjoy it!

This morning THE PHILOSOPHICAL DETECTIVE was ranked just ahead of THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV (believed by many to be the greatest novel of all times!) on the Amazon best seller list for Classic Literary Fiction. (Frankly, I don’t know how THE PHILOSOPHICAL DETECTIVE made it into that category, since it was only published in June.) It’s also ahead of A Tale of Two Cities (No. 63) and The Great Gatsby (No. 66). It can be yours today only for a mere $0.99! Act now! Representatives are standing by.
